Neither anticipates the passion blossoming between them, a passion that will likely end in heartbreak in their class-conscious society. Suspense adds intensity as "lassie snatchers" kidnap orphans before the Ghost can save them, and the romance between the beautiful and quick-witted Isabel and the masked champion of the downtrodden propels this novel to the top of its genre.

Enjoyable read!! It flowed and the plot was interesting. Read it in one day!!
The sexiest thing I’ve ever read
My god. I’d read the 2nd half of the Maiden Lane series before coming back to the first few books, and I thought I knew what a sexy book was. Nope. Not even close. Hoyt has created one of the most sensual books I’ve ever read, with a deliciously sexy dynamic between the two leads. The ending makes my heart swell with joy every time - it’s cinematic in the best ways. Seriously an incredible book.
Addictive!
I couldn't put it down! In Thief of Shadows, Winter and Isabel's growing romance was of a type I've never read, and I've read hundreds historical romance novels. It was unique. It was sizzling. It was beautiful. So far, each book in the Maiden Lane series is a keeper! (I started with book 3, then read books 1 & 2. I suggest reading them in order, though). I'm addicted to Elizabeth Hoyt's writing. She is so talented! Thank you, once again, Ms. Hoyt. I'm on to the next one...
