History student Aria Forsyth's studies lead her to dangerous questions about the Empire's origins. A mysterious man named Owen, impervious to the winter cold, further unravels the safety of the world she thought she knew. At first, Aria believes Owen is human. He says he's not. What if they're both wrong?
A moment's compassion draws her into a conflict between human and inhuman, natural and supernatural, and she begins to discover the secrets of the Empire, the Fae, and what it means to be human.
Enjoyed the story line
I actually really enjoyed this book! The first few chapters were a little, hmm I don’t know.. hard to really get into it until about chapter 8 or 9..
Loved Aria and Owens characters once they became friends. And Petro! Petro seems like he would be a fascinating character!
Anyways! It turned out to be REALLY REALLY interesting! Give it a go. 💜💜
I made it to chapter 6 and stopped!
Aria is at a bookstore when a guy comes in and threatens the owner! Later she is walking around when she sees him and decides to follow him into his building/apartment. He sees her and tells her to leave... few days later she decides to go back into his apartment!!!
I mean, I didn't know about you but I didn't think any woman in her right mind would just say "oh hey, that guy just threatened the old lady from the bookstore! He will probably kill me but I'm going to break into his apartment anyway!"...
