Being crammed into a plane 30,000 feet in the air creates an uncomfortable intimacy among strangers that is unparalleled in modern society. So, what exactly goes through the minds of passengers as they sit elbow-to-elbow, shoulder-to-shoulder, breathing the same air, eating the same snacks (if they're lucky), drinking the same coffee and fighting for the same armrest?
