Poirot in the 1960’s….
The Third Girl is one of Dame Christie’s last Poirot books and I found it completely fascinating. The references to the British youth culture is heavy handed and really dated. Still it was interesting to see Poirot in a setting that wasn’t overflowing with a world full of elegance and panache.
The mystery portion was a bit drawn out with all the usual red herrings. But very honestly, once I got into this book, I absolutely could not let it go!
Also interesting? This seems to be the book where Christie abandons her use of the awful terms that were of her time.
