Part vampire, the only thing greater than Ava Delaney's thirst for human blood is her capacity for guilt. When she accidentally turns a human into her minion, she does her best to set him free - but her attempts land her in the middle of a potential vampire civil war. With the help of some new friends with ambiguous loyalties, Ava tries to save her human . . . and herself.

This was a good read. It left me with some questions, though. But these might be answered in later books. I am interested in reading the rest of this series.
Ok - so I've been on a vampire reading binge lately and this was just so well done! Fresh concepts and refreshingly well written English. Worth the time. I will be buying the next in this series. Thank you.
Not for everyone
Nothing horribly wrong with it, but, to me, it reads as a few steps above fanfiction written by teenage women. The entire POV is not something I can sympathize with, making it hard to read.
The author does have decent characterization for the main character, but is slow to build out the other characters by two thirds of the book.
