Thomas of Ulster

In order to receive permission to leave his home in Ulster, Ireland and sail to America, young Thomas promises his parents he will work on the farm of his uncle in Ohio for seven years. Though alike in many ways, nephew and uncle have some strong differences of opinion. Relationships that develop with other family members test Thomas and serve to bring about his maturity. The lovely and charming Rena captures Thomas’s heart but their love does not follow an easy path. Throughout his years in Ohio Thomas encounters many obstacles but he never gives up on his goal to have his own farm in America. Unforeseen events and circumstances force Thomas to make decisions that change the course of his life. The story comes full circle when a necessary trip back to Ireland brings Thomas and his large family together again.
