A Real Connection
I felt more connected to Loris than to any other female in all the books I've read by Grace Burrowes. While the vast majority of the lead females are strong, Loris shows that in a man's world it's a woman who gets the job don't right. As always I love how jovial and close the relationships are with friends and extended family and that there is always tie ins to other books that are not only in the series. I love the world that Grace creates as well as the beautiful relationship between Thomas and Loris.
Triggering! Be warned
This book came out a good 10 years ago and the author had gotten much better, but be aware that at this time she was using tropes (all to common to the Regency genre) that can be triggering. The heroine doesn't want attention or to be touched, and says so, yet the hero sits uncomfortably close to her, puts his arm around her, looms over her, kisses her, touches her, presses his erection against her and smirks when she blushes at any of this. That he's handsome, protective, and just "teasing" her (and she "likes it") is supposed to justify these actions. However much she falls for him, all I saw was a check list of sexual harassment, not wooing. I gave it a star only because I had to in order to submit this review.
Another good book
Just finished reading Thomas and Loris story and I give it five stars. What a wonderful story about two people looking for love. Grace has such wonderful characters in all her books. Can't wait for the next book. Love all your books.
