Customer Reviews
Solid book
Great information, good balance of facts, stories, and pictures. Great book for anyone thinking about hiking — from day hikes to thru hikes, this book covers the information you will likely want to know.
Disappointed
While the majority of information is useful, there also leaves a lot to be desired. The authors go into these stories of past experiences but seem to leave out important details that could be beneficial to backpackers, especially those who are new. I didn’t really feel like I learned anything of great value that I didn’t already know. I was really looking forward to the book, but they can’t all be winners. I would recommend Mike Clellands book about Ultralight Backpacking instead.
