Time Out

As a teacher and a coach, I was primed for settling down. However, an instant family wasn't something I'd considered until I met Kiera and Brooklyn—then it was all I wanted. But Kiera wasn't ready to play for keeps. I was going after her heart, but she was trying to block me from scoring that goal.

I'd agreed to give her some space—a time out in the middle of the game—but the clock was ticking.
