The first story of the Junior Explorers Society Jeff Bains, boy genius whose passion for inventing could just as easily blow up his lab Rachelle, Jeff's best friend. She is smarter than the blonde jokes tend to indicate Chris, Jeff's Korean martial artist friend Angie Bains, Jeff's eight-year old sister who causes chaos with the teenagers The suspense builds as they hop scotch through history and explore exciting places and people. They meet Julius Caesar, attempt to stop the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, battle dinosaurs, fight alongside the pirate Jean Lafitte and travel to the Earth's distant future. They struggle with their own emotions as their bond grows.
