Publisher Description
Before Jack Malik claimed the Beatles catalog as his own in the film YESTERDAY, the novel TIMELY PERSUASION introduced the world to a folk-rock star named Local Boy.
A washed-up music critic goes back in time. What does he do?
He tries to save Kurt Cobain. He tries to fix his own love life. He tries to prevent his sister’s death. And he tries to turn his father into the greatest songwriter of all time — even if he didn’t exactly write the songs…
What could go wrong?
An innovative blend of music and time travel, TIMELY PERSUASION defies genre conventions while paying tribute to classic time travel tales and classic rock and roll songs.
"Yesterday's got nothing for me." - Axl Rose, "Yesterdays"
"I've seen it all, I was here first." - Kurt Cobain, "Very Ape"
"As I lift my head from yours girl I assure you no one one." - Local Boy, "Won One"

Not just scifi
I really liked how for a scifi book this was more of a story than just geeky. The relationship between the narrator and his sister is charming and the family dynamic is realistic. Explores some fun tangents while mostly (but not always) staying on point with the main story of the siblings or the father and son. The music references are a lot of fun, and are explored a bit further in the short story called Fester by the same author.
About Time
A life changing and amazing book. The author's insight into music mixed with emotions drives this time travel book. It was about time that a book like this came along.
I hope the author continues with his remarkable writing.
