On the lonely frontier of Thunder Creek, W. C. Tuttle launches a riotous comedy of absent-mindedness, class pretension, and wilderness incompetence. Hounds, bears, cougars, wagons, ropes, and rifles all join the mayhem, while practical frontier men like Ike Harper and Mighty Jones struggle to keep order. Even as the camp is battered, the uproar becomes Aloysius's grand cinematic opportunity, and he remains joyfully absorbed in his "picture machine" until the final disaster sends everyone home in defeat. Dry, fast-moving, and packed with eccentric personalities, the story satirizes vanity, wilderness romance, and the folly of people who never quite know what they're doing.
