Titration Calculations Using First Principles

The past few years has seen a change in the way that calculations in the Leaving Cert chemistry titration question (Q.1) are made.

Prior to 2015, a simple “magic” formula  was sufficient to perform the calculations. 


But chemistry examiners are now asking the titration question such that it must be answered using first principles.


Current Leaving Cert chemistry textbooks are still using the “magic” formula. This is not the way to answer the titration question!
