Tokoloshe - Birth of the Ushinto

Girlie is a white, middle class, fourteen year old that lives in a mining town in South Africa in 1984.

She starts to question the reasons why those of color do not need or deserve the things she takes for granted and receives answers that make no sense.

She follows what she believes is a small monkey into a forest and is plummeted into the strange magical world of the local Sangoma and the infamous Tokoloshe and her life is never the same again.

When a magical reality makes more sense than the real world you are living in, there is little else you can do but change your own mind and heart.

Little action you can take except dream….

This is the forgotten story of those who never understood Apartheid, never accepted ...  and could do little else but imagine "change."
