Bring on the Flame
A great collection of stories that add to the great trilogy of books written by Nick Kyme concerning the Salamander Space Marines set in the 40th millennium and what is a very grim and dark future.
This collection not only completes the trilogy of now four books, a true testament that more needed to be told and more wanted to be read, it also collects all of the authors short stories that were written during the journey of him writing the series. These stories round out key characters, events and give some solid history and insight into the encompassing story.
For the fans and followers of this series that may have hunted down all or some of these stories individually through the many mediums they were printed there is a brand new story included "Firebrand" that has only been published here, it's a substantial story in length and story and follows on after the events in the third book of the series. The cool thing about this story is not just the expansion on the trilogy but the introduction and attention to new characters that could very well be key players in a trilogy all their own in the future.
If you have enjoyed the trilogy I highly recommend picking up Tome of Fire and revisit this story it has the feel and themes of the trilogy and only enhances the story Nick Kyme has created!
A good read
If you are hankering for some space marines arguing like small children over who gets to go first on the swing set, and if your veins surge with copper, this is the book for you
