Rhett Hutchence, the younger brother of rock superstar Michael Hutchence, has lived a very different life to his famous sibling. At the age of 13, his mother took only Michael to America when she left the boys' father. Introduced to drugs at a young age, Rhett embarks on a lifetime of drug abuse to cope. Yet, after Michael's death in 1997, it was Rhett who was left standing...and on the road to recovery. Rhett's story traces life in suburban Sydney during the seventies, when he and Michael were in their early teens. He tells of the early days of INXS when they began performing in pubs and how the band is 'discovered', tours the world and records a string of hit albums. Rhett's story gives a rare insight into Michael's rise to fame in intimate letters and conversations while at the same time revealing his journey into drugs and living the life of an addict.
