Tower and Grave
This is a solid continuation of the Guilds of Ilbrea series. If you’ve enjoyed other books from the series, you’re in for another immersive, page turning epic. I loved seeing Ena rise from the ashes and fiercely take back control of her fate. Allora, Adrial and Niko had intriguing developments as well. Mara, Tham, and Kai’s story lines involved a lot of waiting that at times felt like filler.
I gave it 4 stars because while I’m used to being left on a cliffhanger with this series, I felt like most story lines could have used 1 more POV chapter to really get there with this installment. I felt like I was left still on the path up to the cliff, rather than brought to the edge, if that makes sense. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the next book.
An Emotional Masterpiece That Will Tear You Apart
Tower and Grave by Megan O’Russell is easily one of the most devastating books in the entire series so far. With only one book left to go, I honestly don't know how much more grief my heart can take! This story completely tugs at your heartstrings. You feel so deeply for the people of Ilbrea, who are just trying to survive against impossible odds. It makes you burn for justice on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves against the brutal tyranny of the sorcerers. Yet, even in its darkest moments, the book beautifully forces you to hold on to hope. What an absolutely amazing journey this has been. I am so close to finishing the series, and I am genuinely sad because I just don't want it to end.
A little bit disappointed
We all know Travers will be back. I just think he should have been dumped by someone other than Ena.
