“In another life, she was my forever.”
An unexpected tragedy leaves Professor Nathaniel Hunt a widower alone with a newborn baby.
He hires a nanny. She’s young, but well-qualified, with a simple life, a crazy name obsession, and a boyfriend she met at the grocery store.
Over time, he discovers she knows things about him—things that happened before she was born—like a hidden scar on his head, his favorite pizza, and how he cheated on a high school Spanish test.
She speaks familiar words and shares haunting memories that take him back to over two decades earlier when he lost his best friend in a tragic accident.
“I’m afraid of what’s going to happen when you realize I’m not her.”
Transcend is a sexy, mind-bending journey that uncovers possibilities, challenges beliefs, and begets the age-old question: is there life after death?

Unique and captivating
Transcend is book 1 of a duet. It is a really unique story that was completely captivating. I started and finished reading it all in one day.
Swayze has always had moments of deja vu but when she sees Nathaniel, a recently widowed new father, she finds she has memories of him from before she was even born.
“Standing, I stare at my hand. The second I pressed it to his chest, it remembered the feel of his heartbeat. My f**ing hand remembers a heartbeat. How is that possible? And why can’t he remember me?”
Throw into this mix Swayze’s boyfriend, Griffin, a protective, possessive alpha, who cooks, cleans and has a super close knit family who embrace Swayze.
Amazing writing and a storyline that is a bit mystical, mysterious makes this book a truly addictive page turner. I can hardly wait to get my hands on Epoch.

Brilliant!
Every once and awhile, you come across a complete JEWEL of a book (pun intended). That is how I feel about this book. There was a vortex sucking me in from the moment I started reading.
There is a bit of a reincarnation or mental time travel in this story. It's a mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It really puts your mind to the test on what you might already believe about past lives and life beyond death. This is an angsty story to be sure. The characters are so quirky, complex and sexy. The connections that they have can be felt on the pages. I felt like at any moment, they could take a wrong turn and found myself holding my breath. The complete story unravels between the present and the past to start the paint the entire portrait that will be continued in the second book of this duet. It's rare to come across a book that you feel entirely engrossed in from the beginning and I feel like I hit the jackpot on this one. Jewel E Ann is a masterful story teller with quirky characters and I am a huge fan. (
Do you believe in reincarnation?
Transcend is a mind bending mystery that challenges your beliefs about life after death.
Swayze shares haunting memories about Nate’s past from twenty years ago, a life before she was born. How is that possible, you ask? I’m not sure of the answer, but Jewel continues to feed the reader memories that will haunt your soul.
Swayze is a qualified and experienced nanny taking care of one month old Morgan.
Nate is an anatomy professor who works odd hours. Nate lost his wife and is trying to work, grieve, and raise a baby—his first baby with no experience. He hires Swayze to help with the baby.
The relationship between Nate and Swayze is interesting. I’m keenly aware of any and all details Swayze provides about the past.
The relationship between Swayze and Griffin is sexy. They have a strong sexual chemistry.
These two relationships are so different and I’m not even sure I should be comparing them. The dynamics between Griffin and Nate were extremely different. This is not a love triangle nor is the focus on the relationship between these two guys. It runs deeper than that,
There’s extensive backstory about Nate, yet not enough to determine the direction of the story. The more I read, the more I want to know. Jewel controls the outcome of this story. It’s absolutely mysterious the way she delivers information and how Swayze knows information about Nate.
Until Swayze can make sense of the unexplainable memories she has of Nate, these interactions they have with one another continue to grow.
The entire premise is about connecting the dots of the past in order to move forward in the future. Jewel offers valid questions from all sides debating the knowledge of reincarnation and its purpose. This is about Nate finding himself after grieving the loss of his loved ones. Nate has had to overcome the loss of a childhood friend, a wife, and himself.
Swayze is torn between a past that plagues her mind and spending quality time with a loving caring man who deserves her full attention. So many elements and layers, I want and need more. I’m addicted.
Swayze channels past memories about Nate’s friendship with his first love. She acts as a medium who bridges the pieces together linking events.
Transcend transports the past into the present using the interlocking pieces to complete the mysterious mystery about a love lost too soon.
