APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Australian author Mike Jones had us reading late into the night (and turning on the hall light) with his nail-biting gothic tale, a creative blend of horror and historical fiction. When Rosanna’s sickly father exhorts her to escape the harsh fate that awaits her if she stays in Liverpool, she commits a grave crime to board the RMS Perseus bound for Tasmania. Jones’ novel hooked us with its evocative imagery and skin-crawling suspense. We’re excited that The Mothers is the first book in a planned trilogy.
