Publisher Description
Welcoming souls to the afterlife is only part of Amentet's job.
When one of the Nariu escapes from the afterlife, Amentet finds herself having to work alongside a god she can't stand in order to find him and bring him back to the caverns where he belongs.
While Horakhty might get under Amentet's skin, there's no doubt that the two of them work well together, if they can put aside their differences for long enough to manage it.

You’re in my way
Amentet and Horakhty seem to bring out the worst in each other, which is probably why they avoid the other whenever possible. Unfortunately that’s not possible when they’re both needed to catch an escapee from Duat. No one is quite sure what the consequences can be but they all agree it’s not good. So the two gods must put aside their differences and go hunting together.
This is not quite enemies to lovers but similar. It’s a slow romance as the two stubborn gods take quite a while to figure out their feelings. I enjoy the story about two of the lesser known gods and what their lives and jobs might’ve been. While this does stand alone well there is also a bit of overlapping story from the prior book. It’s not spoilery but the issue here makes more sense if you’ve read Spitfire of the Caverns.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cute story
Horakhty and Amentet are two gods that hate each other so of course they must work together. But they eventually fall for each other in a cute easy read I enjoyed. It made me laugh at times.
