Trees and Galaxies

From his home in the Great Smokey Mountains, and sometimes from distant places, Paul Davis opens windows into nature and life by way of the sonnet. The sonnet form of poetry has been in use for hundreds of years, however, here is a modern approach to this grand old style.

In Trees and Galaxies, An Assembly of Modern Sonnets, each poem can be looked at as a snapshot in time and place. However, when the book is read as if each sonnet is a chapter in a story, it may be noticed that the two themes of natural science and human experience are intertwined, and sometimes tied together, revealing unique connections between them at a fundamental level.
