Trey & Mia’s Love Story
Trey by Christie Ridgway is the final book in the 7 Brides for 7 Blackthornes series. It was on outstanding story and a phenomenal series. Trey was probably my favorite book in the series. It wrapped up all the lose ends that were introduced in the first book. Trey is the story of Graham Wallace Blackthorne III, current Vice President of Operations for Blackthorne Enterprises and Mia Thomas, an art teacher. Trey is the heir apparent to Graham as the CEO of Blackthorne Enterprises and the "family fixer". Trey is sent to Paris to unearth the "secret" that Claire revealed when she left her own sixtieth birthday party and to bring Claire home. Mia has the key to the penthouse where Claire is living and must meet Trey outside the door to let him inside. Claire is taking art lessons and is traveling when Trey arrives. Mia is in Paris on a mission. Her best friend, Nicolette died suddenly earlier in the year. Nicolette created a bucket list of places in Paris that she wanted to visit. It is Mia's mission to take her ashes to those locations and as the sun is setting on her birthday, to drop her ashes in the Mediterranean Sea. Mia cannot bring herself to do it. Trey agrees to help Mia with her mission and in the process they agree to a Paris fling. The secret is finally revealed. When Claire returns, she reveals the "secret" and it turns Trey's life upside down. The story is so beautifully written and is filled with many bittersweet and poignant moments, that made me cry. I was so sad at the end of the book knowing it was the last story in the series. Love the Parisian setting and the characters. So glad that Trey became the man he was meant to be
Wow. Talk about a bombshell. Trey never expected to learn the secret was about him. He's always been the fixer, but how does he fix this?
Mia is scared and lonely and with Trey's help she is able to complete her mission in Paris. Saying goodbye is never easy, but with his help she is able to complete the requisite bucket list while remembering Nic, but also having fun. And in the process, Trey has learned what having fun and not being tied to business means.
They come together in such an unlikely way, but they just click. Through fun, sadness, crepes, and feelings of not belonging, they manage to fall in love. As Trey is questioning his place in the family and the business, Mia is there to distract him.
Graham Blackthorne does not know how to express himself in words. He thinks he's being a good husband and father by making sure his family wants for nothing. Problem is his wife wants him to slow down and take some time with her. Will he fix this problem, or will it fester? Will Trey follow in his father's footsteps?
This was my favorite book in the series. I loved the story as well as learning what the secret is. But I loved seeing Trey realize he needs more in life than work. Now, I want Nana's story. We got glimpses in each of the books, but I think that woman has led a colorful life and I would love to read her story (hint hint).
This book might be one of my favorites in the series. Though I’ve only gotten through 5 of them so far. The big secret is revealed and it is heartbreaking for the one it’s about. I don’t want to spoil the big secret but worth the read, the Blackthornes show their love and loyalty. And I loved watching Trey and Mia fall in love in the city of lights! I kept adding locations to my to see when in France list.
