Amazing!
JR Wagner does an amazing job of thrusting you into the life of young Margaret. Each page paints a picture of the life of sweet, sad, and shunned girl. My heart ached for her as her story unfolded. Wagner's descriptive writing of Margaret and her troubled life keeps you turning page after page (I read the book in one sitting, I could not put it down) in hopes for a glimmer of hope and her evil mother's demise. Don't be fooled, a Cinderella story this is not. This is not the book for you if you're looking for a light read, however if you're looking for mystery/fantasy, heartache, deeply developed characters and setting, and a story of the true human spirit for survival, this is a must read.
