"Fill Your Hand You Son-Of-A-Bitch"
John Wayne’s fictional character Rooster Cogburn said the above in the 1969 Hollywood western classic “True Grit.” But the recent discovery of a long forgotten memoir reveals it was said in the real Old West 107 years earlier by a boy of just 16 who was a rattler-quick draw away from blasting a fist size hole into a man’s chest.
This young lad would go on to be one of the Old West’s most feared (yet, virtually unknown today) gunfighters, hired gun regulators and lawmen.
His one-of-a-kind memoir: “The True Story of Kill or Be Killed in the Real Old West” is a must read that separates the truth from the Hollywood fiction.

Touching and rich stories
It was fun to follow the stories on the map and see where Mr. Eaton’s travels took him. Life was different back then and he grew old enough to realize it. I’m grateful for his poignant and detailed storytelling of how business was done - the good, bad, and ugly.
