Gaddy's second Texas True romance (after Texas Forged) suffers from a slight plot despite strong chemistry between its leads. Chase Walker, a rodeo champion who's temporarily out of commission after being thrown from a horse, meets Ella Slade at a bar; sparks fly and they sleep together. But neither of them realizes that Ella, who recently quit her job at her cheating ex-fiancé's ranch, is interviewing at Chase's family ranch only days later. She's the perfect person for the job, so Ella and Chase agree to keep things strictly business going forward—but it proves difficult to forget their night of passion. Chase is not Ella's direct boss, but his tendency to question her about her love life at work will still leave some readers less than charmed. Between the pair's inability to keep things professional and the fact that Chase's family supports their relationship, Gaddy must resort to improbable developments to keep the pair apart. A subplot involving Chase's ex and the ample presence of paparazzi in rural Texas seems engineered to create conflict, but even this is diffused quickly, leaving Ella's insistence that she can't date another rodeo cowboy to drag the plot across the finish line. All but diehard series fans can skip this one.

Enjoyable Romance
Not mixing business with pleasure is easier said than done for Chase and Ella. Truly, Madly Texas was an enjoyable romance between two characters just trying to move forward in their lives. Chase is a side-lined Rodeo saddle bronc rider due to an injury. Unexpectedly, his recuperation is going to be life-changing. Chase just doesn't know it yet. Ella is interviewing for a job as a ranch manager at Chase's family ranch. She is hopeful and desperate to get the job. However, when she learns one of her bosses is a man she spent an unforgettable night with just days prior to her interview; Ella is crushed. Even if she is offered the job, how can she take it? Chase knows Ella is the best one for the job. So, they both agree to keep their night together a secret and basically forget it ever happened. With the amount of attraction and chemistry between them, it will be a losing battle.
Now while you might think the ending is predictable, the journey to get there wasn't easy. Chemistry is only one aspect. Ella has trust issues a mile long and Chase isn't planning on retiring from the rodeo circuit. Watching the ups and downs, with a bit of angst and two very likable characters was the perfect recipe for a well-written, sweet romance.
I truly, madly enjoyed this book~ ;). I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I loved this book. It was a wonderful addition to this fairly new series. There is just one book prior to this, Gabe's story. You don't have to read it to fully enjoy this story (even though he and Chantel make appearances) BUT you really sure as it is a great story as well.
Ella doesn't want to get involved with a "rodeo" cowboy. She just broke up with one and doesn't want a repeat performance. Unfortunately she had to quit her job as an assistant ranch manager as her ex was the son of the owner. She is sitting at a bar pondering about another interview that had gone no where. She is either too young or of the female persuasion. She notices two men fighting over a purse of all things. Ella reaches down to feel for her purse and it is gone. Over walks a handsome cowboy with her purse. Chase Walker has his arm in a sling but still managed to get the purse away from the thief. He was recently injured during a ride as a bronc rider at a rodeo. They hit it off and Ella does something most unusual for her, they have a one night stand. A few days later, Ella is invited to interview at the Walker ranch and guess who answers the door. Yep Chase.
The author does a fabulous job of weaving a tale of pure enchantment in Whiskey River, Texas. (I would move there if I could.) Whiskey River is a fictional town that several Tule Publishing authors have used to tell their tales.
This is a sexy story but not overly graphic in detail, really just a page or two for few sexy scenes. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone over that age of 18. If you love the old fashioned open the truck door kinda cowboy and a strong female to stand up with him, then this is a tale for you!
