Taken hostage by terrorists, an archaeologist must risk everything when a SEAL attempts to rescue her too soon…
Archaeologist Diana Edwards is on a mission to uncover the link between artifact trafficking and terrorism. Just when she’s making progress, she’s kidnapped and forced to work for the very people she’s trying to stop. The nightmare deepens when she discovers the man who arranged her abduction is a terrorist everyone believes to be dead. A team of SEALs is sent in to save her, forcing her to make an impossible choice if she wants to stop looted artifacts from being used to fund brutal attacks across the globe.
Navy SEAL Chris Flyte has one job to do, but the hostage won’t cooperate, endangering him and everyone on his team. After he completes the mission and Diana is safely on American soil, her story of abduction and being forced to dig becomes suspect. But when she shows up on his doorstep saying she’s seen one of her abductors, Chris has to wonder if the archaeologist is lying, or if a terrorist has followed her home.
“Grant’s thrillers never disappoint with her strong characters, masterful plotting, and sharp attention to archaeological detail.” - New York Times Bestselling Author Christina Dodd

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 4.5 stars
Absolutely loved it! Phenomenal story!
This book was a phenomenal read! I absolutely loved it. It pulled me in from the very beginning and had me fully engaged all the way to the end! Diana and Chris are fantastic characters and very well written and complex. We get to meet Diana as she is walking through the market and realizes that she is being followed and very quickly ends up kidnapped and taken into the desert in the Middle East. She is there as an archeologist on a grant with the university as well as covertly working for the Friday Morning Valkyries who work to shut down illegal trade of artifacts as it's funding terrorism. This story is definitely high on the tension as Diana is kidnapped and held, but not for ransom. They want her archeological skills, for digging and pricing artifacts. While there she is asked to price some artifacts and a known terrorist, thought to be dead, shows his face and then leaves. A SEALs team is sent in after Diana and she is forced to make an impossible choice on if she wants to get the terrorist and stop this trading route. After she is rescued though, it's not over for Diana as what she saw and why she did what she did is called into question and coverups seem to keep coming. This story was definitely intriguing and engaging. It had my full attention the entire time and once started, I didn't want to put it down. I had to figure out what was going to happen to Diana and see how it was all going to unravel as the layers just kept coming. This story was really well done with the storylines and secrets and how they are all woven and tangled together. I loved watching Chris and Diana as they are drawn together in the midst of all of this and have to learn to trust each other as everything is happening and they are getting to know each other. All very, very well done and I can't wait for the next one!
Terrific romance suspense!
Thrilling romance suspense! Terrific characters with skills necessary to take on terrorists and traitors. I loved the archeology background and Middle East backdrop as archeologist Diana teams up with hunky SEAL Chris to take down the baddies. It’s an instant attraction between the two that leads to the bedroom, and other places, as they navigate their feelings and the danger that comes their way. They get lots of help from old friends in the intelligence community and Diana’s group of Valkyries. There’s fast-paced action and intense danger with good mystery and intrigue along with a sexy romance. Worth the read!
