Enjoyable, with lots of heart.
Trusting Jake
This book had the potential to be a cute HEA story. Unfortunately, the author decided to have the main female character stutter very frequently while speaking to the male. This was not due to any neurological or speech impediment, but simply as a way to somehow show that she was nervous or a weak, fragile female. It came across as misogyny. It made the book difficult to read and detracted from the story. It wasn’t necessary and, in my opinion, ruined the book.

I nearly didn’t read this because one reviewer revealed the female lead (Jen) lied a lot, that she had passed up several chances to confess. Which is perfectly true, BUT Jen had an excellent reason for the deception, and for me is a likable character in many ways. And Jake is a really good fit for her.
So, I am sooooooo glad I read this!
