From childhood to manhood during the early nineteenth century, Andrew must stay strong and find a way to recover from battles and lost love. Nightmares force him to relive it all. Both his body and mind must deal with the vagaries of life to find a new destiny.

With his experience as a leader of men, he's asked to head up a wagon train. He sees it as a chance to help fulfill the young country's Manifest Destiny and maybe discover a new future for himself.
