Tusaayaksat – Summer 2020

While these words have long been on our minds—who would've known that they would finally be pushed to the forefront by the COVID-19 pandemic? No longer being clouded by the minutiae of the “everyday”, we ask: what is it that you need to do for yourself to be well? In our next issue, we'll explore what Inuvialuit are doing to keep healthy and well during uncertain times of social distancing, self-isolation, and quarantine. We’ll highlight exciting and ongoing projects from IRC’s Health & Wellness Division, and how they are assisting Inuvialuit to develop solutions to social, health and wellness challenges. From spending time out on the land, to working and learning from home, how are shake-ups in our daily routines changing the way we relate to our inner selves, the world around us, and each other? How have our world systems been restructured by COVID-19, and how have our definitions of “being healthy” changed, if at all, to reflect our current reality?
