A treasure
This is one of the best books I have ever read. A young man goes to the American west and sets out to make a success of himself in the rough gold camps. Along the way he meets a beautiful young lady and makes an enemy. It's a story with plenty of meat to it, and I've re-read it more than once. There's adventure and even a bit of romance.
