Given the growing cast of characters and their complex backstories, those already familiar with the bestselling authors' fictional world will most enjoy this intelligent suspense novel.

Pendergast is back
This is a book I recommend to all Pendergast fans, it has all kinds of twists and turns and is the authors best writing in a while.

Much better than Cold Vengeance
I have read every single book by these authors and particularly enjoy their Agent Pendergast novels. This book seemed to justify the weak style, anemic plot, and abrupt ending of Cold Vengeance. I really wish they had released both books together as a really long novel or just had a better editor. It was not as good as Brimstone or Book of the Dead but much better than Wheel of Darkness or Cold Vengeance.
TL:DR This was a good Agent Pendergast book, if you're even a slight fan you should get it.
