Book 1 of the Branwell Chronicles (302 pages)
She thought he was the perfect man for her daughter--until she fell in love with him herself.
"An original, eloquently entertaining, and deftly crafted Regency romance novel by an author with a clear mastery of the genre." --Midwest Book Review
Sir Joshua Stiles wants nothing more than to fill the hole in his heart left by his wife's death, but it seems that women are more interested in his fortune than in himself. Cynical and ready to renounce all females, he is none too pleased when his siter invites her dear friend to visit for the Season.
Having survived a joyless marriage, Genevieve Breckinridge has no romantic expectations. In coming to London, she hopes only to cure her daughter's Gothic fantasies. But Sir Joshua seems always to be at hand, either to witness Genevieve's most mortifying moments, or to make himself so agreeable that she wishes she had not given up romance.
When her daughter develops a decided tendre for Sir Joshua, however, Genevieve suddenly realizes where her own heart lies, and must make a painful choice. For what loving mother could--or would--play rival to her own daughter?

Now this is a Regency romance!
Delightful! Best Regency romance I’ve read since my last Georgette Heyer. Language, dialogue, attitudes, and customs all spot-on for the period, instead of a contemporary romance in Regency costume. Loved the heroine and hero. The outcome, although obvious to the reader, was suitably ambiguous for the heroine, and the happy ending very satisfying. On top of which, there were precious few editing errors. Loved it. Thank you, Ms. Everette! I will definitely be reading more of your books.
Lovely book.
What a lovely book. Clever, funny, with engaging characters and a wonderful love story. Very true to the spirit of Austen with a wry humor.
Two in the Bush
Ms. Everett…your Two in the Bush book was a struggle for me to read. But, it was also one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. You captured my attention and held it from page one to the last page. Would highly recommend it with the caveat that the reader be prepared for many long and not frequently used words. Must say my dictionary got a lot of use with this book.
