For many, the pertinent question really is one of symbolism. For its supporters, the Cordoba House Initiative, renamed the more innocuous "Park 51", would be a symbol of all that is good and right with the American Constitution; a granting of religious freedom, a dialogue among cultures, and a freedom from persecution for minority groups.
