Publisher Description
Sam Flatt hates injustice. He remedies it. By any means.
Flatt spent years working for a government agency that doesn't exist, sent into caves and hovels to retrieve electronic intelligence from America's enemies. No rules of engagement. No bosses. Get the data, by any means. Now he's back home, an elite digital detective who peacefully investigates hacks and data theft for the world's premier corporations.
His new client? SPACE. It's not just the glitziest casino ever built. It's the largest man-made structure in history, a futuristic wonderland that has captivated Las Vegas and the world. Someone has hacked the casino's high-tech gaming machines and it's costing the company millions.
They hire Flatt to find and shut down the cyber intruders. He finds something far worse than financial theft, but he alone seems interested in stopping this evil. That's fine; Flatt is used to working alone. He's also hard-wired to protect the innocent, and woe unto those who stand in his way.
Unallocated Space won Thriller of the Year from the Kindle Book Awards and a look through its hundreds of 5-star reviews will confirm that Hatchett is an unputdownable author who will keep you reading far into the night.

Make Room for Unallocated Space
I was not prepared for how good a thriller this book is. It is set in a futuristic Las Vegas casino resort which the author makes seem real and enticing. Experiencing a sensitive security issue, casino management calls in Sam Flatt, a premier computer consultant with some added skills, including a prior career in dark ops. We follow Sam step by step as he conducts his digital forensic investigation which uncovers some unexpected results, shocking activities and seriously bad actors. Along the way Sam has to figure out who he can trust and who is out to get him. As events unfold they have far reaching consequences and put Sam personally in great danger, testing his ingenuity and character as he tries to protect himself and others close to him.
Two things made this book stand out for me. First it feels authentic because the author really knows computer forensics and other technology which he makes understandable. Second, Sam is a fresh, unique character – a cerebral action figure with deep principles and feelings.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough.
