This book is a week-by-week story of Bakersfield High School’s undefeated 2011 football season. 

Heading into the season there were high expectations for the Drillers and the team’s finish was one of the biggest stories of the year. Ultimately, it was an off-the-field decision involving the Drillers and the California Interscholastic Federation that put an unfortunate exclamation point on a championship season. 

This book is a collection of writing by the staff of The Bakersfield Californian, led primarily by lead high school sportswriter Zachary Ewing; freelance writers; and The Fresno Bee. The photography is also a magnificent collection of work by Californian staff and freelancers. The video content was provided by the coaching staff at Bakersfield High School.
