The food critic...
Miranda Storme once gave her body and soul to Gavin Luciano, but he took her love and walked away without a word. Now he’s back. He may look even sexier than he did three years ago. His kisses may still burn in her memory. And his arrogance hasn’t changed since he states his intentions to reclaim her. In his bed. Still, as an established food critic who ends up in his restaurant, there’s only one thing on her mind. Revenge…
Gavin Luciano walked away from the family business and his lover years ago. He thought power and money would make him happy. Now he realizes his mistake and comes home to right his wrongs. He has three months to make his family's struggling Italian restaurant successful, and a bad review is Gavin's worst nightmare. But this isn't just about the meal. He's finally realized what he left behind and is determined to spend the next eight weeks proving himself to Miranda in the kitchen...and in the bedroom. This is one dish she won't be able to refuse.
But when he learns about Miranda's secret, will a second chance at love be too late?
I love seeing an alpha-hero be vulnerable.
Unbreak My Heart by Jennifer Probst is a 10th Anniversary release of this enjoyable story. It is a second chance contemporary romance about Gavin and Miranda. Gavin is a successful international advertising executive who was on leave to try to save the Italian restaurant which had been in his family for generations. Miranda was a successful food critic, whom he had abandoned several years before when he ran away from his feelings for her.
This dual POV story was wonderful with a strong woman who rose from the ashes of her failed relationship with Gavin and had little interest in allowing him to break her heart again. This is the story of a strong alpha-hero who finds himself willing to give up control, make himself vulnerable, and succeed in a complete transformation in order to have the woman he loves. It included an engaging cast of family and friends who provided comedic interludes to lighten the more emotional passages between the lovers. With lightning hot chemistry between this couple, there were many steamy passages throughout the novel. I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read with a satisfying happy ending. I recommend the book to lovers of erotic contemporary romance similar to Carly Phillips. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after reading an advanced complementary copy of this novel thanks to Valentine PR, Jennifer Probst, and Triple J Publishing.
Gavin & Miranda were always meant to be together!!
Gavin and Miranda have a past that she wants to pretend never happened whereas he wants to win back her heart and her trust in any way possible. As a restaurant owner, reviews are very important because one bad review can chase away new and sometimes old customers. Miranda didn't care about any of that and wrote a scathing review about Gavin’s family’s restaurant, Mia Casa. I can understand why she was brutally honest in the review but she didn’t think ahead as to how her words would affect his business. Miranda never reviewed any restaurant twice and she hoped she could leave Gavin and their drama firmly in the past. Of course, what our heart wants is seldom what our head wants, and Gavin became a fixture in Miranda’s life whether she wanted him there or not. She certainly gave him a hard time and I was surprised as to how rudely she treated him. I was shocked that he kept coming back for more, but Gavin was relentless in his pursuit of her love. He made friends with her best friend, delivered lunch to her office and always lavished her with romantic words and gifts. I would have taken Gavin back in an instant but Miranda made him work for every little ounce of forgiveness she felt he deserved . His family loved her, he loved her and he prayed that with a little luck, they would finally have the future they deserved.
Unbreak My Heart
Unbreakable My Heart by Jennifer Probst is a standalone, sexy, second chance romance. 4.5 stars
Gavin and Miranda were involved, but he walked away because money and power were more appealing than his family’s restaurant business and Miranda. Now, three years has gone by, and he realizes his mistake so now back home he has to turn the family’s restaurant business around and hopefully prove himself to Miranda.
