I have read most of Dick Francic' books and find them always entertaining and fun reading.... The good guys win ;and they contain a few surprises, a bit of romance, interesting philosophical observance and a wide range of knowledge -- especially about horses and steeplejack racing in England.
I highly recommend any of his works for pleasurable reading!
