Publisher Description

Bookshop owner and maid of honor Addie Greyborne vows to catch the killer who crashed her best friend’s wedding . . .

It promises to be Greyborne Harbor’s wedding of the year. The impending nuptials of Serena Chandler and Zach Ludlow will take place aboard his family’s luxurious super-yacht, currently moored in the harbor and the talk of the town. But on the day of the wedding, a man’s body washes up on the beach with no ID, only a torn page from a book in his pocket. As owner of Beyond the Page Books and Curios, bibliophile Addie is called in to identify the book, but she cannot.

The morning following the extravagant ceremony, a second body washes ashore and Addie has a sinking feeling that the two deaths are connected. While the guests are held on the yacht as the police investigate, at least Addie can peruse Zach’s father’s rare books library on board. A copy of Agatha Christie’s first Hercule Poirot novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, provides a clue that the killer may still be on the ship—but narrowing down the suspects without becoming the next victim may prove a truly Herculean task . . .

Educational, light reading; This series needs development

I enjoy a light, cozy mystery, series. I started with book 1 and up to date. I felt Under The Cover of Murder was more juvenile than previous books. The characters just are not developing. I felt like it was more for young adult. It’s sort of the same story just different locations. I appreciate the not jumping-in-to-bed relationship with Simon (prefer Mark), but Simon has no sex appeal other than described looks and profession. He’s like a best friend. No guy settles for a peck on the cheek for months on end. Maybe the writer doesn’t want girl and cop to get together because it’s so common in this genre, but there needs to be more spice and heat here. Harlequin Romance was better, and I read those in junior high. Add some depth and surprise, but please, this is a grown woman, not Punky Bruster. The author is “phoning in” these books or writing for grannies of 80. I read these when I don’t want to think; therefore 3 stars instead of 2. I feel like I’m reading Hallmark rejects. But I love the town, the characters, and vintage book education.
