After the battle at Waterloo and the final defeat of Napoleon, Reabridge welcomes home those who served in the war. It is time for the annual Harvest Festival, and perhaps some of these weary soldiers will find or renew love under the Harvest Moon. Nine touching stories tell about those who did.

Moonlight Wishes and Midnight Kisses – Collette Cameron
Courtland Marlow-Westbrook returns from the war scarred and unsure what to do with his life. He was on the verge of proposing to Avery Levingtone before he left, but feels he has nothing to offer her now. Avery still loves him and is very determined. Will she be able to win him again?

The Morning Light – Caroline Warfield
Dr. Adam Wagner lives, but not quite copes, with the horrors of war. He’s a good doctor, but he drinks to excess to live with, or try to forget, the memories. Meg Barlow loves him. She loves Adam and is determined to help him heal and accept her love. Will she succeed?

A Harvest Blessing – Rue Allen
Captain Thom Owen arrives at the vicarage with a French “fiancé” and her aunt. He finds that his father is ready to have him home, and they both find forgiveness. Charite` is taken with the orphan who is in the vicar’s care. She and her aunt stay with the vicar to help with the child. This is a lovely story in which a happily ever after is possible for two couples.

Coming Home – Mary Lancaster
Captain David Buckley is from one of the two feuding families in Reabridge. He married the daughter of the other family. She was taken by a fever in France. When he comes to the family’s inn to talk to them, Lady Lorna literally falls into his arms, when she faints. She and David soon fall for each other. Can she fend off an unwanted suitor and convince her father that she and David belong together?

Under the Champagne Moon – Alina K. Field
Captain Gareth Ardleigh promised to find Fleur Hardouin for her grandmother. She has selected the man she wishes Fleur to marry. Fate has a different idea. Fleur and Gareth are falling in love. Will he be able to give her up to someone else, or will he follow his heart?

Can an accidental meeting lead to love and a happy future?

A Love Beyond Time – Sherry Ewing
Captain Brand Worthington is in Reabridge recovering from his war injuries. He and Hannah Pownall fell in love when the family lived briefly in Reabridge. Family troubles caused them to leave, and Hannah was left with no word and a broken heart. When he shows up at the inn, how does she show the man she has always loved that she is happy to see him? She pours a tankard of ale over his head. Once he dries off, will there be a second chance at love?

The Widow’s Harvest – Cerise DeLand
Even though they had a night of passion and Ford and she were in love, Vicky was forced by her father into a marriage of convenience in order to gain British citizenship and safety from the French. When Ford, who is now the earl, returns from Waterloo, he learns she is a widow. Is this there second chance to find a happy future?

Love in Its Season – Jude Knight
Jack Wrath came to Reabridge with Adam Wagner to recover after the war. He lost the use of one arm ending his military career. Gwen Hughes runs the family farrier business since her brother died in the war and her father has dementia. Jack come to her rescue from a pompous customer. He begins to spend time at her home, caring for her father and helping around the house. Is it possible they will fall in love under the Harvest Moon? The epilogue is wonderful and wraps up the stories nicely. The mystery of the orphan found in France runs through the collection. Who is his family, and will they find him?
