Publisher Description
If you live or work with someone who has narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), you probably often feel put down. You feel ashamed of your own needs. Your relationship may feel so out of control that you wonder if you’ve lost your sanity.
As a clinical psychotherapist for nearly thirty years, Patricia Kuhlman has worked with many people who have been victimized by another’s NPD. She joins Stephen Arterburn to explore:
• Practical tools to break the cycle of pain and find healing
• What narcissism is and how people become narcissists
• The most current research about NPD
• How to define, express, and establish personal boundaries
• A how-to, self-care program including sample responses to narcissistic behaviors
Most importantly, Kuhlman offers validation, understanding, and encouragement. Being in relationship with a narcissist can be lonely and confusing. Find stability and truth in this practical guide.

I feel more educated
I like that the book explains the different levels of narcissistic behavior and have examples of how to communicate with them as well as encouraging the person being hurt mentally or physically by the person with the disorder to seek help and to move out of harm’s way to protect their own sanity and children if children are involved. The book is easy to read and understand and there is an appendix of words and definitions at the end to refer to as needed. I would recommend reading this book to help you learn about the behavior and why it’s so difficult for some to change especially without professional help as well as help encourage those being manipulated by the Narcissist to do what’s necessary to stay plugged in to a support system.
