Publisher Description
Unforgotten: A Generation Left Behind documents the condition of left behind children in rural China. Commonly defined as children living in rural areas with parents working in cities, the phenomenon of left behind children was first widely documented in the early 2010s by both Chinese and international media.
These children typically only see their parents once a year during the New Year's break, if at all. For most of the year, they live with their grandparents, who may be unable to provide adequate care. Due to the absence of parents, left behind children often experience loneliness and neglect in the household.
Since the phenomenon was first brought to light, these children have fared much better as the quality of education and scope of care have improved. Due to the endeavors of the government and local charities, more and more families are now supported.
Unforgotten is designed to be viewed horizontally.

Absolutely amazing!!! Unforgotten: A Generation Left Behind gives a unique perspective on the children and their caretakers forced to live in destitution. The pictures give a eye-opening outlook on the people left behind AND the proceeds go to charities that these very people depend on. Strongly recommend for everyone!
