UNFORTUNATELY COMMITTED

There is a city that does not appear on any pack map. It very much exists.
Ironmere. Inland. Unremarkable. Home to the Ashfen pack, who have been surviving without official recognition for sixty years because someone, a very long time ago, decided they should disappear from the record. Lila arrives and finds a community that has been losing its land, piece by piece, to a network that was supposed to have been dismantled three books ago.
It was not dismantled. It just hid better.
The deeper Lila digs, the older the roots get. The woman who built Greywarden. The forty-year-old conspiracy that funded it. The architect who has been living in hiding for twelve years, watching the investigation close in, deciding whether to fight it or finally, finally let someone see the full picture.
There is also an Alpha challenge that Lila cannot intervene in. A completed mate bond that changes the texture of everything. A freelance operative who stops pretending she is not on the team. And a pack of sixty members who have been invisible for so long they have stopped expecting anyone to come.
Someone came.
The question is whether coming is enough. Or whether the thing buried under sixty years of administrative silence is too big, too old, and too deliberate to be undone by one human woman with a notebook and a very strong coffee habit.
