UNTAMED

Being the bad-boy bassist for the world's hottest band has earned Griffin Hancock some perks: a big house, a fast car, and most importantly his incredible wife Anna. The one thing it hasn't brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.

Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he's caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos--one that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he's seen an ache in her eyes, and it has his soul in knots. Just as the recognition Griffin seeks is finally within reach, the thing he loves most in life could be slipping through his fingers . . .

Loved it!!!

Just when I thought I couldn't love a D-Bag couple more than Kellan and Keira.....there was Griffin and Anna.

An emotional roller coaster. I read this book while recovering from a hysterectomy. I only put it down when I could barely keep my eyes open. I was addicted. Griffin is human and he has a heart....I think that was the most surprising part.

If you are a fan of the D-Bag books.....YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS ONE! And I hope there is more.

I ❤ the D-Bags!!!!

Griffin was a character that ruined my ideal for the D-Bags.

Untamed was a story out to prove Griffin's worth. Griffin wanted not only to be famous but noticed as well. Griffin had two goals in life: sex and rock star status. Joining the band completed the goal of sex and set him on his way to achieve the second goal. Griffin had this ideal belief that a lead guitarist was the best on stage, the best sexually, and the best looking. Griffin set out to prove he was better than the others in the band.
Griffin was married to Anna. They had two kids. He was a family man, a husband, and a father.
Griffin was an immature man-child. Griffin's character turned every conversation into sex. The sexual dialogue was astonishing. Griffin's attention was self serving with only ideas of sex and being the lead guitarist. Griffin was so blindsided by his own drive to stardom that he easily dismissed what he already had. Anna his wife who offered endless support and understanding to Griffin. Anna doted on Griffin with love, attention, and sex and it never seemed enough for Griffin. Griffin was a shallow character with no depth. He made rash decisions without consulting his wife or thinking about his future all in the name of pride. Griffin was a one-dimensional character.

SC Stephens laid it on too thick in regards to Griffin and his attitude. The conceited nature of Griffin's character needed to come down a notch. Griffin was power hungry. He thirsted for fame uncaring at what it cost him to achieve success. I know at some point SC Stephens had a reason for all this turmoil. But truthfully I could not fathom Griffin creating such chaos.

Untamed turned Griffin into a different character. What was presented in the Thoughtless series about Griffin was stable but now Griffin appeared rude, vulgar, and self-centered. I was disappointed with this directional character change in Griffin. It ruined how I felt about the band. Griffin was a character that did not need expanding on, especially in such a negative manner. I grew tired of reading about Griffin complain how he was shut down by his band mates. I grew tired of him complaining that Kellan was the only noticeable talent. I grew tired of his ego expressing how better looking he was.

This was a second chance story for a Griffin to grow and mature and appreciate what he had. The premise of the story was challenging considering the D-Bags were established in the Thoughtless series. I felt this premise might have been better received if the character and band member had not come from the D-Bags. The familiarity with the band and the characters image was ruined and tainted by these turn of events. Untamed was hard to read objectively when the characters were so likable that it was heartbreaking to have all the negativity come between them.
I had to separate my past thoughts of the characters and band members and treat this as a separate story in order to finish.

Abyss way better ,

A disappointing follow up

Griffin came off as severely ADHD, and slightly sociopathic. In the end, soft, flaccid and edgeless. Simply not plausible based upon his character from the first 3 books. The first 2/3 of this book were exhausting to read. In fact, I actually skipped paragraphs at a time, simply to arrive at something remotely resembling the genius of SC Stephens Thoughtless series.
The ending was not factually correct or even possible.
I was hoping for more, after such a spectacular breakout series. Kind of angry I spent the money.
