Oliver, the lead investigator for a local ghost-hunting team, is looking for the one ghost he can't find—his best friend, Tracy. After he dies from cancer sooner than expected, Oliver is devastated and throws himself into his macabre hobby. But when he and his team canvass an old, haunted mansion called the Hollister House in the mountains of their North Carolina town, they stumble upon a human trafficking ring. Once the pimp is apprehended, the team is relieved. Authorities assure Oliver that the trafficker, named Juan, fled the country and won't likely be back, but Oliver isn't so sure. Now that the women have been freed from the mansion and are safe, the team can finally get back to work, but something is off—demonic—in the small mountain town of Hopewell.

Meanwhile, people in the small town begin acting strangely as more demons begin to gather at the mansion. But when Oliver has a vivid dream that leads him to believe Juan is behind the demonic possessions, he decides to take a break from the chaos in the mountains. While away, a violent storm rolls in, and Oliver gets a staticky phone call from his girlfriend, begging him to return to the Hollister House, but nothing can prepare Oliver for what lies in wait.

The ghost hunters know when they're in over their heads, but the secrets of Hopewell won't die quietly. Will the ghost from his past save their futures?
