Vale Four does not announce itself as horror. That is the point.

The facility at the center of this arc has a pool table, an arcade, and staff who are pleasant in the specific way that people are pleasant when they have already decided what is going to happen to you. Every system Vale Four uses exists. Every technique it deploys has a white paper behind it, a conference presentation, a LinkedIn post from someone who genuinely believes they are making the world more connected and engaging and personalized.

Deep Dream State is a full-cast audio drama built around a self-defined genre called desire horror: fiction in which the most effective mechanisms of control do not override the will but recruit it. Vale Four is the fourth arc of the series. Its tools are earworms, facial telemetry, gamification, and astroturfing. Its product is consent. The horror is not that it works. The horror is that working is the point.

This scriptbook collects the complete Vale Four Arc as written for audio production. It is not a transcript. Stage directions are preserved as production notes, and the architecture of the plot is visible on the page in ways the audio does not always make explicit. The fiction is the fig leaf. The phenomena are not.
