The Afterlife Academy wasn't what Ylva expected, but that's not going to stop her on her quest to become a Valkyrie. The world is at war and that means extra work for any Afterlife Assistants.

Secrets & Shadows
This was an amazing sequel! Ylva still has more to discover about who she is, what she wants, and her journey of becoming a Valkyrie. Not everyone is who they seem to be and people who she once thought had good intentions eventually show their true colors. There are many twists and turns in this book leaving Ylva more of an outcast and friendless than ever. One of the lessons she learns is that adults don’t always know best and secrets have their time and place. I loved the relationship growth between her and Ryoko and am still holding out for more. The characters are very realistic and it was an emotional ride to see how they handled everything thrown at them. Pickles had a few more scenes and I can’t wait to see her again in the upcoming books!

Continuation of adventures
Ylva is still in the middle of all kind of trouble while trying to find out more about who she is and her place in the world. She is keeping so many secrets too. I loved how easily this story flowed and how you could easily relate to the characters.
