APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
With drama, romance, and a pair of badass heroines to root for, Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy—the first book in a series—might be one of our favorite YA fantasies. Lissa is a special breed of benevolent magical vampire. Her BFF, Rose, is a half-vampire half-human who’s sworn to protect Lissa as they enter the Vampire Academy. Mead teases out all kinds of thrilling secrets, including a forbidden romance, the plans of the world’s most powerful and destructive vampires, and the origins of her main characters’ unbreakable bond. Rose and Lissa are just the kind of self-possessed heroines we love reading about. Their story reminds us that a strong female friendship is one of the mightiest powers on earth.
This series by Richelle Mead is the best.It is an Mystery,Drama, and Romance all in one book series.
The books overall story was pretty good however I just couldn’t get over the excessive rambling. You could read two pages without any actual dialogue and by the time you come acrosss a dialogue you forgot what the other character even said. Extremely repetitive especially with the other books in the series and just overall not something I expected to see on a bestseller list. Seems like it was written for 12 year olds and the only reason I finished the series was bc of the decent storyline. Also very hard to fall in love with the characters and rally behind any of them. Character traits felt very forced and I quickly grew tired, frustrated and bored with them.
Hoped it wouldn’t be too scary...it wasn’t! Love it!
