Trite and Predictable
I just finished the third of the Year in Europe series and I wish I could say I wanted to read the fourth. The heroine is obnoxious and unbelievable. She is described as a woman who was very successful in business, but her decision making is seriously flawed and improbable. Additionally, she has spent 20+ years in New York City and thinks it is acceptable to allow a strange man to sit at her table in a city where she has no friends and knows no one? How naive does the author believe his audience is?
The idea behind the books is admirable and could be empowering and a great read for 50+ women and women of all ages. It is a shame that an idea with so much promise is so boring and implausible.
