وصف الناشر
In the thrilling sequel to Spine of The Dragon, bitter rivalries and blood feuds threaten to tear apart the human kingdoms as an ancient enemy reawakens.
For a thousand years, the Three Kingdoms and Ishara have been locked in a relentless war. But when an outside threat emerges—the reawakening of a powerful ancient race bent on remaking the world—the two warring nations must find a way to set aside their hatred and forge an unlikely alliance against a far more deadly foe.
In Vengewar, the Three Kingdoms are fracturing under the rule of an inexperienced new King, manipulated by an ambitious regent to ignore the growing danger of the Wreths and instead pursue an all-out Vengewar with Ishara. The King's brother and uncle alone recognize the true threat of the Older Race.
Ishara teeters on the brink of chaos as an ambitious priest seizes power in the wake of the queen's coma. Lacking the knowledge and skill to lead a nation, let alone a city, he leaves Ishara vulnerable to a Wreth invasion.
Packed with epic battles, fearsome dragons, and political intrigue, Vengewar continues Kevin J. Anderson's thrilling Wake the Dragon series, an action-packed sword and sorcery saga that will captivate fans of high fantasy.

Anderson's heart-pounding second Wake the Dragon fantasy (after Spine of the Dragon) finds war building between humans, dragons, and the wreth and those who should be fighting together are falling further apart. When half-human, half-wreth Utho murders Konag Conndur of the Commonwealth driven by his desire for vengeance against the Isharans, who slaughtered his people several generations ago, his actions set off a chain of events that could destroy humankind. The Isharan Empra Iluris simultaneously falls into a coma and each side frames the other, setting off the war between lands that Utho was hoping for. Key Priestlord Klovus uses the opportunity to seize control of Ishara, meanwhile the Commonwealth's new Konag prepares to battle his human enemies ignoring warnings from the two kings of the Commonwealth that the real threat is not from humans, but from the ancient wreth race who've returned after centuries and plan to destroy the world. Large-scale battles, magic, and multiple exciting story lines meld together to create a thrilling adventure. Readers will be hooked from the beginning to the shocking end.
