After a near-fatal encounter with a venomous snake, young Ebony Maher defies all odds by making a miraculous recovery. Two years later, Ebony manifests powers and abilities that can only be described as snakelike. Events come to a head as the consequences of her medical miracle tear apart everything she has known.

Lost and alone, guidance appears in the form of Shesha, a mysterious snake charmer who inducts Ebony into a sisterhood of women who share the same strange origins. Little does Ebony know that Shesha and his ‘family’ are far from the saviours that she had thought them to be.
